WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs, recently celebrated the grand opening of its Albany, N.Y. Welcome Room serving the Capital Region. WellCare’s Welcome Rooms are neighborhood health care information, education and sales centers that are open to the public and staffed by WellCare associates who can answer questions about Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Long Term Care health plans.

WellCare hosted local leaders including State Sen. Neil Breslin (D – Delmar), Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings and the Hon. Kathy Sheehan, Albany city treasurer, at the event.

“WellCare's new Welcome Room is an important community resource dedicated to informing residents about health care information, and it is my hope that our residents will utilize this great service,” said Jennings. “I applaud WellCare for their dedication to our community and look forward to continuing to work together to help educate our city on health care.”

During the grand opening, WellCare presented a check for $5,000 to the Capital City Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the homeless and poor in the Capital Region.

"This generous donation will go a long way in helping us continue our mission to serve over 600 meals a day, provide shelter and clothe many people in the Capital Region needing our assistance."

They offer a comfortable environment where visitors can ask questions about health plans, find out if they are eligible for extra benefits, get online to search for more information and enroll in a WellCare health plan.
