Huffington Post Readies Groundbreaking Article By Singer Wilson Knight About Dating Closeted Men in the Military
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Next week, Huffington Post publishes upcoming Pop singer Wilson Knight’s groundbreaking article about dating closeted men and proposes gay men are unwilling to separate from unrequited love. Cleverly written, the article titled, "Shadow Roles: When Gay Men Fall Into Detrimental Patterns For Love" parallels the paralyzing dependency with Stockholm syndrome. The article, inspired by his current single, "Stable Ground (feat. ROB.B)" is sure to encourage other gay men to re-evaluate their role in a closeted relationship.
After five years of dating a closeted Catholic marine, the singer finally learned to stand on stable ground and move on. Channeling his heartbreak in music, Wilson began writing and recording songs in the studio. After releasing his debut single, fans identified with the lyrics asking Wilson for a deeper explanation. "It all began as a journal entry. I shared it with my manager and he encourged me to turn it into an article," the songwriter explains. "We both knew it was a story of so many, that had to be told."
With so many new stories being written this year, thanks to the strides towards gay marriage, there is still a silent story so many members of the LGBT community are too ashamed to tell. "I have so many friends who are too scared to talk about the person they’re dating, because that person has a wife." Wilson confides. "It’s like being in the closet all over again." The Huffington Post article examines this phenomenon even further. "Too many gay men are willing to take the backseat in a relationship, because society has already conditioned them to consider themselves second class citizens. So with that mentality, sometimes any seat will suffice."
Finally out of a bad situation, Wilson Knight is focusing his energy and new found freedom on music and writing. The singer is currently in the studio working on an EP slated for release this Fall. Later this month, a remix to his single, "Stable Ground" featuring openly gay rappers LastO, DDM, Flykingi and Solomon is set to be released. "I’m so excited for this remix! We totally re-vamped the song with a new beat and changed the chorus,” Wilson explains. “We’re sampling ‘Keep Me Hangin’ On’ by Diana Ross and the Supremes. And with my past situation, I just find the lyrics so appropriate." Wilson Knight’s current single, “Stable Ground (feat. ROB.B) is available worldwide on iTunes and can be downloaded here: http://smarturl.it/StableGround.
