Yoga Teacher Training Center on Long Island, Yoga Darshana to Expand Facility in 2014
West Babylon, New York (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- Yoga Darshana, a West Babylon, NY-based yoga center offering various yoga classes, special events and teacher training, is pleased to announce the commencement of work to expand their existing facility on Great East Neck Road in West Babylon, NY. You can see the transformation in progress on their website here http://www.yogadarshanacenter.com.
For the past 12 years, the staff and students of Yoga Darshana have practiced, taught and learned the joys and health benefits of the yoga. However, as interest has grown in learning the ancient art that combines fitness of both mind and body, the need for a larger facility has become more pressing. Recently, the board members at Yoga Darshana have decided to build the brand new studio in the upper level of the building they currently occupy. With plans already drawn up and construction to start tentatively on February 17th, the staff and students are already looking forward to utilizing the new facility to expand their own horizons as well as new students.
When the work is completed, the new space will have abundant natural lighting courtesy of a skylight and better windows, wood floors and a fire place. To accomplish all of these, walls will be taken down, a staircase will be relocated, and the ceilings will be raised. The new studio space will be a more open learning space whose purpose is to provide a more enjoyable experience of yoga by offering more classes, more training programs and other events. The team of yogi’s that make up the Yoga Darshana center staff are excited about the project and are eagerly looking forward to the finished project.
With over $7,000 raised toward the cost of the work, the center is still far below the $40,000 needed to complete the work. As a not-for-profit center of learning that serves the entire community, offering classes that can be taken for free or the students can make charitable donations, the staff at Yoga Darshana Center are counting on the generosity of the community to help them raise the additional funding needed. Due to the center’s not-for-profit status, all donations are fully tax deductible. All donations will be memorialized with a lotus flower on the walls of the studio bearing the name of each donor. For those exceptionally generous contributors who donate $500 or more, a special plaque will be placed on the center’s walls to remember the kind generosity of those specific contributors.
Since Yoga Darshana’s inception in 2001, thousands of people have been helped; have become stronger, healthier, increased flexibility both physically and emotionally. People suffering from injuries, asthma, and osteoporosis, as well as emotional disturbances including anxiety, depression and PTSD, have been helped. A noncommercial center with a warm, peaceful and friendly environment, this safe and nurturing atmosphere allows students to feel at home and relax as they are. Through various means, sometimes using chairs, blocks, straps, sandbags or other props, yoga is made accessible for all regardless of body size, flexibility, injuries, limitations or age. Darshana believes that yoga should be accessible and affordable for everyone and tailors Yoga to the specific needs and lifestyles of each individual.
