Zandile Williams, a 2009 graduate of MIT, has announced that she is now offering a math tutoring service in Bellaire, Texas. The tutoring program is not limited to any specific grade level, as Williams’ background, experience and knowledge enables her to assist math students at any level.
Williams earned her B.S. from MIT in economics, a field of study that requires a clear understanding of a number of mathematical concepts. The tutoring programs she now offers are designed to assist a broad range of students, including individuals that have traditionally struggled in math, are preparing for a standardized test involving mathematics, and even those that have a history of excelling in the subject.
“Anyone can benefit from assistance in mathematics, as there are always different ways of looking at a particular concept that may make more sense to an individual,” said Williams. “I truly enjoy providing this assistance to students, and I believe that tutoring is a very valuable tool to increase learning gains.”
While Williams acknowledges the importance of having a thorough understanding of the field of mathematics when tutoring, she also takes great care to present information in a way that is individualized so that it is easily understood and applied. In this way, a great deal of Williams’ students have benefited in a significant way as the result of the tutoring sessions.
In addition to her economics degree from MIT, Williams has a very diverse educational background. She earned a TEFL/TOEFL certification from Oxford Seminars in 2011, enabling her to be certified to teach English as a foreign language. When she is not tutoring, Williams works as a real estate agent, focusing on leasing in particular. In her free time, Williams enjoys playing tennis as a recreational tennis player, though much of her time is taken up by her 3-year-old toddler.
The MIT graduate is offering her time and expertise to students in the Bellaire, Texas, area, citing a great student need for assistance in all subjects relating to mathematics. Williams believes that her services can benefit a broad range of students, especially given her exceptional knowledge in the subject and her ability to clearly explain important concepts in a manner that is easily understood.
