Release 7.0 retains all the powerful features of Zavanta GOLD security, and just makes it easier for organizations already using Microsoft Active Directory to manage their user permissions.

With the newest release of its popular Zavanta SOP software, version 7.0, COMPROSE just made it easier for its client companies to set and manage logon credentials and user permissions by integrating with Microsoft Active Directory® (AD). Earlier versions of Zavanta GOLD already provided robust security features for controlling who could access, view and change information based on logon permissions. It is easy to define user permissions based on roles so that administrators and managers may have access to view, control and track information that can be hidden from users with lower security permissions. However, in large organizations with hundreds of individual logons to manage, Microsoft Active Directory simplifies the task of administering user permissions.
Because Zavanta’s User Manager allows very tight and granular control of functional and content access, administrators can confidently extend usage to large numbers of employees throughout the organization, but as the installations grow larger the task of managing logons grows too. “We have had numerous requests to integrate our Zavanta software with Active Directory to simplify the administration task in larger organizations,” reports the COMPROSE R&D manager. “Release 7.0 retains all the powerful features of Zavanta GOLD security, and just makes it easier for organizations already using Microsoft Active Directory to manage their user permissions. Now using Zavanta GOLD edition version 7.0, organizations can opt to bypass Zavanta’s standard log in for authors and reviewers (username and password) and instead use Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD) eliminating the need to create and manage separate Zavanta usernames and passwords. Instead users can simply log in with the same credentials that they use for other applications. In addition, when new users are added in Active Directory, they can automatically inherit the permissions for the group they belong to in Zavanta! ”
