Ziff Energy Forecasts Western Canada Natural Gas Production Outlook to 2022
Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) June 25, 2014 -- Ziff Energy, a division of HSB Solomon Associates LLC (Solomon), today announced the release of its Western Canada Natural Gas Production Outlook to 2022 report. The report forecasts gas production, natural gas well connections, and new gas well productivity in seven regional Western Canada gas strategies and four unconventional plays to the year 2022.
“Exploitation and development of the Montney & Duvernay plays are key to production growth,” said Bill Winnick, P. Eng, Executive Associate of Consulting for Ziff Energy. “By 2022, tight and shale gas is expected to account for at least 80 percent of Western Canada’s gas production.”
Figure 1 shows the average new gas well initial productivity (IP) in Western Canada since 2005. In 2013, the average IP was almost triple the 2011 level due to the increase in horizontal drilling and multi stage hydraulic fracture completions.
