'Zonesty is the perfect partner for Sharyland customers in this newly deregulated area to see apples-to-apples comparisons of rates and find their best option for a new provider....,' said Jill Stevenson, Zonesty's Chief Marketing Officer.

Sharyland, TX (PRWEB) May 14, 2014

Sharyland Utilities’ transition from a public electric utility to competitive electric market has led to a number of newly deregulated locations in Texas. In these areas, homeowners, renters and businesses are now able to choose a new retail energy provider, which is something that wasn’t a possibility in the past. The transition to deregulation is confusing to many consumers who do not fully understand all of their provider options and sorting through the comparisons can be intimidating and frustrating. Zonesty has been quick to offer a trusted solution to customers within this newly open market with their convenient, online rate comparison service. By visiting http://www.Zonesty.com, customers in the Sharyland Utilities service areas can easily see their options and sign up for a better electricity plan from their computer or mobile device.

Assisting customers with the ability to easily find and compare their best rates from respected retail energy providers is crucial during this time of change. While Sharyland Utilities will continue to deliver electric services, the selling and billing for services will now be done by one of 34 retail energy providers that are newly certified in the area.

The four Sharyland Utilities divisions that are opening up to retail energy providers this year include:

·         Brady
·         Celeste
·         Colorado City
·         Stanton

The complete transition to the competitive retail energy market happened on May 1, 2014 at the beginning of a normal meter cycle. It was the Public Utility Commission of Texas Docket No. 39592 that established when the four divisions would become a part of the competitive ERCOT market. ERCOT, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, is administering the retail switch for 6.7 million customers.

Sharyland customers were given a deadline to choose a new provider by April 13, 2014. However, 45% of the 49,206 total ESI IDs did not make a selection by the deadline and were assigned to one of seven default providers. These customers with the remaining 22,000 ESI IDs still have the opportunity to explore their options and choose to designate a different provider for their specific needs and interests. "Zonesty is the perfect partner for Sharyland customers in this newly deregulated area to see apples-to-apples comparisons of rates and find their best option for a new provider. We simplify the change for customers by quickly providing unbiased research on their behalf so they can make an educated decision and easily sign an online agreement with the new provider of their choice," said Jill Stevenson, Zonesty's Chief Marketing Officer.
