A Forever Recovery Interviews Monroe County Attorney and Probate Judge Candidate Jill LaVoy on Monroe’s Heroin Epidemic
Battle Creek, MI (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- A Forever Recovery, an open-ended drug and alcohol treatment program that gets clients off to a great start and gives them a solid foundation in recovery they can believe in, has published a new video featuring an interview between A Forever Recovery's CEO Per Wickstrom and Jill LaVoy, an experienced attorney who has served Michigan’s Monroe County for over 20 years.
During the interview, which took place at the 2014 NFL Draft held in New York City, Ms. Lavoy highlighted the critical fact that there are no socioeconomic borders when it comes to the heroin epidemic.
“Sometimes when we think of certain vices being problematic for families, we think of them in terms of certain socioeconomic groups,” commented Ms. LaVoy, who is also running for Monroe County Probate Judge. “But there is not one person in Monroe Country who doesn’t know somebody or have a family member who hasn’t been impacted by the heroin epidemic. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, how much money you make, or what you do for a living. You’ve been impacted.”
“If we’re ever going to stem the heroin epidemic in Monroe County and in many other areas around the country, it’s going to take leaders like Jill who have the vision, the expertise and the compassion it takes to address this head-on,” commented Per Wickstrom. “Jill knows that we have to provide addicts and their families with the resources they need right now, while we invest in programs and services to help young people understand the risks and make smart choices that are better for them, their families, their communities, and our country.”
