A Forever Recovery CEO Per Wickstrom Speaks at Monroe County Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit
Battle Creek, MI (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- Per Wickstrom, the CEO of A Forever Recovery, a leading addiction treatment center that has pioneered a moral reasoning approach to recovery that empowers each individual client to access the spiritual, cognitive, and fellowship support that they need, recently joined a panel of experts who spoke about treatment and recovery at the Monroe County Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit.
The Summit, which took place at the Monroe County Community College Meyer Theatre/La-Z-Boy Center on December 3, was sponsored by the Monroe Country Substance Abuse Coalition as part of the group’s ongoing effort to counter Monroe’s heroin epidemic.
“We can’t address Monroe’s heroin epidemic through legislation, courts or jails” commented Per Wickstrom, who was joined at the Summit by judges, educators, substance abuse specialists, law enforcement officials and clergy. “We have to be proactive and focus on spreading awareness, empowering parents, and giving the Monroe community the resources and tools it needs to fight back against this epidemic.”
Added Per Wickstrom: “The Monroe County Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit was a remarkable opportunity to discuss new ideas, and explore workable, practical solutions to a problem that must be solved.”
About A Forever Recovery
A Forever Recovery program is an open-ended drug and alcohol treatment program that gets clients off to a great start and gives them a solid foundation in recovery they can believe in. Not every treatment methodology works for every client. Some people are very receptive to 12-step principles, whereas others are more comfortable with faith-based treatment. Cognitive approaches have excellent success, whereas others thrive within a more holistic approach. A Forever Recovery allows clients to choose from a wide range of recovery methodologies, coupled with Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT), to achieve success rates unmatched in the addiction treatment industry. The bottom line is that there is no single therapeutic approach to recovery that works for everyone… until now.
