A Forever Recovery Celebrates New Victories in Overcoming Addiction With Weekly Graduation
(PRWEB) May 04, 2015 -- Every Friday afternoon at A Forever Recovery, a result-driven substance abuse treatment center located in Southwest Michigan, patients and staff gather in the common room to celebrate the successes of those graduating the rehabilitation program and to gain encouragement and inspiration in their continuing effort to overcome their addictions.
One by one, those patients who have completed their recovery programs come to the podium to accept their certificates and to share a bit about their journey with the audience. Some choose to express a few simple words of gratitude to the friends that they have made along the way, others may speak of where they found themselves before coming to A Forever Recovery and the changes that they have made in their lives since arriving. Occasionally, a graduate will share a song or poem that they have written, honoring the difficult path that they have traversed and the peace and happiness that they have found on the other side. “Our graduation ceremonies are one of the best tools that we have in our recovery program,” says A Forever Recovery’s founder and CEO Per Wickstrom. “Peer pressure is a major jumping-off point of addiction. Likewise, seeing a peer overcome addiction shows our patients that it is possible for anyone to overcome their problems with dependency. Just the simple knowledge that there is hope for us all can be enough to help someone beat their addiction.”
A Forever Recovery takes a unique approach to the treatment of substance abuse and addiction. Offering several options to their patients in creating a program that fits their individual needs, the AFR treatment strategy focuses more on helping the patient to discover their own ability to overcome their substance abuse issues, rather than offering a quick fix or a replacement drug therapy. Through intensive personal discovery and addressing the underlying issues at the root of a person’s addiction, A Forever Recovery offers a long-term substance abuse treatment that results in a healthier and more positive lifestyle.
