A Forever Recovery Releases Video Highlight Reel of Traverse City's 2015 National Cherry Festival
Battle Creek, Michigan (PRWEB) August 19, 2015 -- With perfect weather overlooking the Grand Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, the 2015 National Cherry Festival saw thousands of visitors from all over the world joining in the fun that is the celebration of a historically and culturally important part of life in the region, the Tart Michigan Cherry. Held from July 4th-July 11th, 2015, this weeklong festival has carnival rides, pie-eating contests, classic car shows, and many other attractions, offering something for people of all ages to enjoy. A Forever Recovery, a holistic result-based treatment center for substance abuse located in the Southwest area of Michigan, joined for the second year as sponsor of the event.
“Visiting the beautiful Traverse City is always a pleasure, and even more so at this time of year,” said A Forever Recovery founder Per Wickstrom. “We were excited to return as a sponsor of the National Cherry Festival, bringing our message of freedom from addiction, and having a little fun while we are at it. We hope to be able to continue our partnership with the Cherry Festival for years to come.”
As part of the sponsorship, A Forever Recovery made it possible for classic rock artist Foghat to grace the Bayside Music Stage with a performance of all of their biggest hits from a career that has spanned over four decades. Peter Rivera, the drummer and vocalist from 70s Motown group Rare Earth, helped get the crowd warmed up with his new trio ensemble as the sun made its way down the horizon, casting a warm golden light over the bay and the crowd. Following an introduction by Wickstrom and AFR associate Mark Hergert, Foghat thrilled the crowd with recitals of hits such as “Fool For The City”, “Night Shift” and, perhaps their most memorable single, “Slow Ride”.
Former Detroit Lion’s Autograph Signing at Cherry Festival
Additionally, A Forever Recovery brought along some former Detroit Lions players for an autograph signing session. As fans of all ages lined up for photos and signed foam mini-footballs with the AFR logo, wide receiver Herman Moore, offensive lineman Lomas Brown, and tight end Rob Rubick chatted the afternoon away with smiles, laughter and jokes.
The local Fox 32 news team also took the opportunity to interview the NFL greats about the Lions’ upcoming season. A video with highlights from AFR’s visit to Traverse City is available on the A Forever Recovery YouTube channel.
