Academy of Responsible Tattooing Expands Brooklyn Location
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) May 07, 2015 -- On Monday, May 4, the Academy of Responsible Tattooing will open its new tattoo shop at 95 Morgan Avenue, located in a larger building that will accommodate all its student tattoo apprentices.
The Academy made the decision to expand into a larger space this January, when the company realized it was running out of space to fit incoming student tattoo apprentices, says Christina Seeber, Marketing Manager.
"The company has seen significant growth in the past few years," Seeber explains. "As a result of the demand for more body art from the masses, more people are heading to tattoo art schools and taking on apprenticeship positions. We had apprentices in the old Brooklyn shop every hour of the day and we just weren't able to accommodate any more, so we decided to expand into a larger space."
The new tattoo shop will be able to hold twice as many student tattoo apprentices at a given time, and the school will offer three different sessions each day -- morning, afternoon and evening as well as weekend hours.
"Everything is completely customized for the Academy of Responsible Tattooing and it is both an amazing tattoo shop and a place of learning," Seeber says. "The spacious floor plan and custom facilities make this a brighter, cleaner, bigger space in which one can learn how to tattoo."
The building is located in an old warehouse neighborhood that's in the midst of a cultural revitalization thanks to a growing number of artists, musicians and small businesses thriving there, Seeber says. The neighborhood is home to some of Brooklyn's trendiest eateries and hot spots.
John Costello, Apprentice Advocate, says the new location will be beneficial to both the Academy of Responsible Tattooing's student tattoo apprentices and its customers who stop in to get high-quality tattoo work.
“The old location started getting cramped; now we have room to spread out," he says. "The open floor plan benefits both customers and apprentices alike with more space and light. Plus, Roberta's pizza is right around the corner.”
Guy Prandstatter, Founder, says the Academy of Responsible Tattooing's new Brooklyn location will solidify its status as a leader in tattoo education.
“Our success and expansion in Brooklyn has only been possible because of the amazing creative people of New York," Prandstatter says. "They come to us with a hunger to be the best tattoo artists that they can be -- we simply provide that possibility."
CEO Paul-Anthony Surdi sees the move occurring in a broader context, as well.
"Opening a new shop is the ideal way for us to ensure that we're part of the next wave of art and culture in Brooklyn," Surdi explains. "I'm not sure if our artists and student tattoo apprentices have any idea how fortunate we all are to open this location, yet over the next few years it'll be clear that our continued commitment to creating world class tattoo artists and world class tattoo destinations, will be vibrantly alive in the heart of New York City's artistic renaissance."
