Ace Computers is rolling out HPC clusters designed for Big Data scientific analysis. This was made possible by a new generation of hardware and software that scales to the needs of universities, government labs, and independent labs.

Big Data is unstructured data like graphics, videos, sensor information, and images from medical scanners that doesn’t originate in a traditional spreadsheet database. Experts estimate that 80 percent of all data is unstructured. Because this data has to be read and decoded in order to be usable, this requires significantly more computing power and specialized management and application software.

According to a recent survey of top administrators, more and more organizations are bringing Big Data analytics capabilities in house. Consider the following:

  • 70% of organizations report that Big Data is critically important
  • 63% of organizations are currently using Big Data analytics; up from 5% in 2012
  • 27% of firms say they will invest greater than $50 million in Big Data by 2017, up from 5% one year ago.

Ace Computers CEO John Samborski said, “There is no mistaking this trend toward bringing Big Data in-house. The reasons for this explosion are many, but two that come to mind are increasing concerns over data security and the fact that these powerful clusters are now within the financial reach of most organizations.”

Ace Computers’ Big Data analytics clusters for scientific organizations feature:

  • Enhanced compliance, security, and encryption features
  • Powerful compute capacity
  • Increased memory, bandwidth, and VM per core
  • Next level parallel processing capabilities
  • A compact footprint
  • Significant scalability

Ace Computers’ Big Data analytics clusters give research organizations the ability to dissect a new class of computational and data-intensive projects and innovate at lightning speed.
