Portland, OR (PRWEB) December 09, 2015
A 2013 FBI study found that on average, active shooter incidents occur every three weeks in the United States, making them an unfortunate reality of the modern American workplace (from A Study of Active Shooter Incidents in the United States between 2000 and 2013). Studies of these events highlight valuable lessons that can be applied through employee training potentially to reduce the likelihood and impact of an active shooter event.
Due to the potential danger of an active shooter, organizations should be prepared. No workplace is immune to the risks of an active shooter incident. It is important to train employees on the proper procedures for dealing with an active shooter and the aftermath of that type of situation.
Succeed Management Solutions now offers an Active Shooter Preparedness online training course. To assure the safety of employees, taking proactive steps to establish an effective emergency action plan is critical.
The Active Shooter Preparedness training also includes information on ways to coordinate simulation exercises, how to identify warning signs of workplace violence, post-incident actions to follow, and other preventative measures and responsibilities with which your employees should be familiar.
As with all Succeed courses, this training can be assigned to employees via Training Track™, an application that is designed to automate all aspects of an employee training program. Training Track™ is one of the available applications in Succeed’s web-based Risk Management Center. The Risk Management Center also contains other OSHA-required programs, training materials, and integrated software solutions.
Organizations can also access the Active Shooter Preparedness training via OpenSesame.
Succeed Management Solutions, LLC also writes a blog that contains safety tips, toolbox talks, training shorts, and more.
