Active Navigation, the data privacy and governance software provider, today announced it is has released a free-to-use COVID-19 Rule-Pack which offers corporate visibility into COVID-19 related activity across an organization’s data estate. This Rule-Pack also helps to prepare companies for potential government legislation which may require documentation of pandemic related actions as a wave of COVID-19 related personal data is created, shared and stored.
In response to COVID-19, hundreds of thousands of data points such as geolocation and health information are being generated and analyzed to slow the spread of the virus. While this data may technically not be considered Personally Identifiable Information (PII), it is still sensitive and should be protected. The quick move to a remote workforce has also created data governance challenges as employees work on home networks.
