Author Russell A. Baptist, LCSW releases ‘Adam and Steve’
(PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- NEW YORK – Having experienced providing therapy and supportive counseling to individuals and groups as a licensed mental health professional, author Russell A. Baptist, LCSW reveals a provocative road map about same-sex attraction. “Adam and Steve” (published by Xlibris) is targeted for teenage boys, adult men and family members who want to support their loved one. This will open their eyes into the different issues, hurdles and milestones that men who are attracted to men face.
“My motivation was simple – teenage bullying resulting in death due to suicide is being documented throughout the country,” the author says. “It made me ask the questions: did these teenagers die in vain? Did they know that same-sex role models were around to help them? Is that attraction a lifestyle or a real authentic life? ‘Adam and Steve: The Rules for Men Attracted to Other Men’ was written to answer those questions.”
Primarily, the book speaks to three different audiences. One is the male teen or preteen who may be discovering his own sexuality or being bullied because of it. The other is the adult who may understand this sexuality but not his obligation to others who come behind him. The third group is the parent or family member who just wants to be supportive to a son, brother, uncle or even a father. Along with its rules, this is written to establish that same-sex male attraction culture exists, letting the readers understand that it is not merely a lifestyle choice. It has its own customs, norms, beliefs and language.
An enlightening and eye-opening read, “Adam and Steve” lends a voice to the struggle for same sex acceptance in all aspects of society.
