MRIS honors Mark Lowham for the 2016 Adam D. Cockey, Jr. Community Leadership Award.

Mark’s sincerity, charisma and passion for his career and community make him an inspiration across the industry and in any organization his work touches.

MRIS, the industry-leading Mid-Atlantic Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that facilitates over $150 million a day in residential real estate transactions, has announced that Mark Lowham, CEO and Managing Partner at TTR Sotheby’s International Realty in Washington, D.C., is the 2016 winner of the Adam D. Cockey, Jr. Community Leadership Award.

The award, named after former MRIS Chairman of the Board, Adam D. Cockey, Jr., for dedicating over 40 years to philanthropic efforts, honors real estate professionals who have demonstrated an unsurpassed commitment to community service and activism.

“Mark is a truly remarkable real estate professional, always placing integrity and professional service at the highest level, and making leadership a priority in the communities in which he lives and works. We’re honored to have Mark on the MRIS team as a member of our Board of Directors,” said MRIS President and CEO David Charron. “Mark’s sincerity, charisma and passion for his career and community make him an inspiration across the industry and in any organization his work touches.”

As the leader of a rapidly growing real estate company, Lowham places community involvement, volunteerism and philanthropy at the center of the organization’s culture. Through his encouragement and personal example, he has inspired his group of nearly 300 real estate professionals to get involved with the Washington D.C. area’s community institutions. In 2015, Lowham’s company was recognized as the #1 Most Philanthropic Small Business in Washington, D.C., by the Washington Business Journal, a remarkable accomplishment for a small real estate firm. This year alone, the group will collectively participate in nearly 100 community events throughout the metro area.

Lowham commits his time, talents and resources as Chair of the Board of Directors for Inova Health System’s Life With CancerTM program, Vice-Chair of the Advisory Board for CharityWorks and member of the Board of Directors for MRIS, Wolf Trap Foundation, and has previously served on the Board of Visitors at George Mason University and Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens. Lowham is also a member of the Leadership Council for McLean Community Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees for The Potomac School.

Lowham is a popular Master of Ceremonies, leading and inspiring large groups at community fundraisers, galas, charity auctions and keynote speeches.

As recognition for his achievement, Lowham received a donation to the organization of his choice. MRIS presented the award to Lowham at a ceremony at MRIS office headquarters today.
