MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After seven weeks of intense matches, WINNERS League Season 3's playoffs are about to begin.
WINNERS League Season 3 will ring in the new year with the playoffs for both the European and North American Invite Divisions. The European playoffs will begin on Sunday, January 12, while their counterparts across the Atlantic start a day prior on Saturday, January 11.
The WINNERS League Season 3 playoffs feature an impressive $50,000 prize pool, split between North America and European brackets. The winner of both regions' Invite Division will receive $7,000. The NA and EU teams coming out victorious in the Main Division will earn $2,500 each. $2,000 will be rewarded to the NA and EU teams who take first place in the Starter Division. The rest of the $50K prize pool will be distributed to teams that place 2nd through 8th.
The WINNERS League Season 3 playoffs are not only a chance for the top teams to earn some cash though. More importantly, WINNERS League is an opportunity for up and coming squads to climb up the competitive ladder, prove their talent, and then take on the next level of competition.
The WINNERS League playoff teams have faced a long road to get to the finals, competing in a total of 128 games of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive across all divisions.
Four teams from each group advanced in the regular season, with each region now set for a 16-team single-elimination tournament to determine the two champions. Each series will take place in a best-of-three format with only the very best teams making it to the finals.
