American International College Offers MBA in Resort and Casino Management
SPRINGFIELD, MA (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- The new MBA in Resort and Casino Management offered at American International College (AIC) is representative of the College’s responsiveness to regional economic opportunities. With the Casino bill remaining intact in the Commonwealth, AIC is now poised to deliver an innovative, quality business education with a focus on this growing industry.
The AIC Master of Business Administration in Resort and Casino Management program provides comprehensive learning in the key areas of business knowledge necessary for success in the global economy of the 21st century, specifically within the resort and casino arena. The program combines theory with practice to develop a full understanding of the ways that each business discipline can be integrated into a broad-based approach to effective organizational leadership. Alternatively, students are able to pursue a graduate certificate within the same discipline which allows students to take classes without having to commit to the full-length master’s program.
This program is designed for recent college graduates, current business professionals and experienced, mid-career managers who seek a graduate business degree to advance their careers. According to AIC Trustee and Vice President of Public Affairs–Eastern Region at MGM Resorts, Kelley Tucky, “Gaming is a brand new industry to Massachusetts. AIC’s new MBA program in Resort and Casino Management will give its graduates an edge in understanding the complexities, including compliance, marketing and running a successful resort casino project.”
The MBA program at AIC is a structured, 12 course, 36 credit program that operates on a cohort-based model. Students enter the program as a group or cohort and attend classes with the same group of students through graduation. This fosters a close, team-based working relationship between the students. Students complete graduate course work in six core business disciplines and five courses specific to the resort and casino industry. The culmination of the program is the MBA capstone in which students create a comprehensive business plan to address a significant problem or issue within the resort/casino industry.
The Chronicle of Higher Education recently named American International College one of the fastest growing colleges in the nation. In the private, non-profit master’s institutions categories, AIC placed among the top 20 colleges and universities in the country with a 127% growth rate, more than doubling its enrollment over a ten year span.
