Everybody deserves a good pair of shoes, so I strongly encourage members of the community to donate any unwanted new or used pair of shoes and help Soles4Souls fulfill its mission.
Englewood, CO (PRWEB) October 01, 2015
“It is my goal to double the collection from our previous drive,” said Daniel. “Last year’s drive produced a box of shoes to help those in need that do not have the means to purchase their own.”
The mission of Soles4Souls is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2050, and does so through short-term relief and long-term solutions. It acts as a second-wave responder providing footwear and clothing to those in need during times of disaster. In fact, Soles4Souls was founded as a disaster-relief organization after philanthropists and shoe executives provided footwear to those most impacted by the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005. To date, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed more than 26 million pairs of shoes to those in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S.
“Every single day thousands of children around the world are prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work because walking becomes unbearable due to a lack of shoes, but a donated pair of shoes can provide relief today so thousands can succeed tomorrow,” said Daniel. “Everybody deserves a good pair of shoes, so I strongly encourage members of the community to donate any unwanted new or used pair of shoes and help Soles4Souls fulfill its mission.”
