AirMap and uAvionix Partner to Integrate Real-Time Data from uAvionix’s Ping ADS-B Sensors with AirMap’s Airspace Management Platform
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) September 07, 2016 -- AirMap, the leading airspace management platform for drones, and uAvionix, creator of the Ping ADS-B sensor, announced today that they will integrate uAvionix’s cross-platform collision avoidance technology with AirMap’s airspace management platform.
The partnership will make real-time data gathered by manned and unmanned aircraft equipped with Ping devices available to the hundreds of drone innovators and app developers who use AirMap’s developer platform; to the millions of drones that are powered by AirMap’s integrations with leading drone manufacturers; and to anyone who downloads the AirMap iOS or Android app.
uAvionix’s Ping is the world’s smallest, lightest and most affordable family of ADS-B transceivers and receivers. uAvionix technology is based on the international ADS-B standard, allowing cross-platform communication between manned and unmanned aircraft and air traffic control.
Through the partnership, anyone who uses AirMap’s airspace management platform will be able to access live updates about the current location of manned and unmanned aircraft equipped with Ping sensors, as well as any information these sensors receive about other nearby aircraft with ADS-B transceivers on board. The integration of the two technologies will improve access to the real-time aircraft positional data necessary to plan and execute safe, efficient drone flights. Ping sensors will be further enabled with AirMap’s comprehensive airspace information, giving unmanned platforms new intelligence to operate into a variety of environments.

The partnership was announced at the InterDrone conference and exhibition in Las Vegas, NV, on September 7. AirMap co-founder Gregory M.
