Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) March 29, 2016
Sunshine Coast Health Center, a top-rated drug rehabilitation and alcohol treatment center in British Columbia, Canada, at http://www.sunshinecoasthealthCentre.ca, is proud to announce 2016 Spring and Summer application opportunities for students to apply for healthcare placements. The Center has partnered with nearby colleges to offer placement opportunities for those interested in careers in nursing and medicine, and for graduate students who are looking for practicum locations. Students, schools, or associations looking to explore potential placement opportunities are urged to contact the Center at their earliest convenience.
"Continuing education is a high priority for us here at Sunshine Coast," explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. "Addiction treatment is a growing industry and many education programs cannot keep up with new research and changes in the field. These opportunities will allow persons with potential and future careers in healthcare to gain invaluable skills and experience for treating addiction. We expect to place two more persons in the June to August, 2016, time frame."

Sunshine Coast Health Centre: Philosophy of Treatment
While many people are familiar with the popular "12 Step" methodology of treating substance abuse, Sunshine Coast uses the methodology of Viktor Frankl, commonly called 'Meaning Therapy' as developed by psychologist Paul Wong. Dr. Wong was heavily influenced by Viktor Frankl and used personal meaning as a way to organize different therapies such as existential psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, and positive psychology into a unified therapy approach. Therefore, persons who are selected to participate at the Centre will be exposed to this exciting treatment methodology as they work on completing the education requirements for them to become nurses, physicians, and/or licensed therapists.
