Chavez for Charity, Whole Foods Market & Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Team Up for a Good Cause
Madison, NJ (PRWEB) June 27, 2014 -- Chavez for Charity, a vendor of Whole Foods Market will host a fundraising event at four Whole Foods Market locations for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a non-profit organization focused on raising money and awareness for childhood cancer research. The event will take place on Saturday, June 28th from 10AM-2PM at the Madison, Montclair and West Orange locations and from 12:00PM-4:00PM at the Milburn/Union location.
A lemonade stand will be set up outside of each Whole Foods store where shoppers can donate what they wish for a cup of lemonade. All donations will go to ALSF to support childhood cancer research. Whole Foods stores are encouraging employees to wear yellow in support of the event and will also be offering delicious lemon-themed food and drink that will include lemon bars, lemon chicken and lemonade smoothies.
Chavez for Charity, a strong supporter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, will have tables set up at each store showcasing their yellow bracelets from their Signature collection. The bracelets will be sold for $10 each at the tables as well as through Whole Foods Market’s Whole Body department. Chavez for Charity will donate 25% of the gross profit to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. If you cannot make it to the event, you can show your support by purchasing a yellow bracelet online at chavezforcharity.com.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Whole Foods Markets to help support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s efforts to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer causes,” said Joe Cerbo, Co-Founder and CEO of Chavez for Charity. “Our goal is to make this an annual event and we look forward to adding more and more locations each year.”

About Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $80 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 450 pediatric cancer research projects nationally. To date, Chavez for Charity has donated $250,000 to their 10 partner charities.
The bracelets can be purchased online at chavezforcharity.com or at select retail locations across the U.S.
