“We are proud to be one of the first Veterinary Hospitals in North Georgia to provide digital dental x-rays to our patients,” - Doctor Edward Holton, DVM

All Animals Veterinary Hospital, located in Dawsonville, Georgia is proud to announce the addition of digital dental x-rays to its service offerings. Dental x-rays in recent years have become part of standard care for all animal dental procedures. Completing an x-ray before a cleaning or surgery shows veterinarians key items that may be causing problems not visible from normal eyesight.

Like many other vets, All Animals Vet has used standard x-ray equipment in the past. However, the company’s new digital dental x-ray systems are an advanced type of technology no other local vets have started utilizing.

“We are proud to be one of the first Veterinary Hospitals in North Georgia to provide digital dental x-rays to our patients,” says Doctor Edward Holton, DVM. As the practice’s Veterinarian with over 25 years of experience, Holton understands the importance of animal dental health. “There are several distinct advantages to digital dental x-rays and this is why we have made the switch,” Holton explains.

Digital x-rays are more convenient and can be viewed faster than typical x-ray files. After completing an x-ray, a vet can quickly display it on the computer to show customers. In addition, digital x-rays provide the option to zoom in and out to focus on key areas in the x-ray. “You can’t do that with standard x-rays!” says Holton.

Whether a pet is receiving a cleaning, extraction, or gum work, having an x-ray before the procedure provides helpful information to the doctor. He or she can verify areas that may have cavities or are cavity-prone, any type of infection, and teeth that may need to be removed.

“We encourage all pet owners to bring their dog or cat in for a dental service at least once a year,” Holton states. While you can keep your pet’s teeth clean at home, it’s best to have a professional clean the hard-to-reach places. Dental services keep your pet’s mouth healthy while preventing infection and disease.
