RESTON, Va., Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Altruista Health, Inc., an innovative provider of care management technology solutions, today announced that it participates in CA Veracode Verified, a program that validates a company's secure software development processes. With approximately 30 percent of all breaches occurring as a result of a vulnerability at the application layer, software purchasers are demanding more insight into the security of the software they are buying. CA Veracode Verified empowers Altruista Health to demonstrate its commitment to creating secure software.
As part of achieving CA Veracode Verified, Altruista Health can now demonstrate through a seal and an attestation letter from an industry leader that its applications have undergone security testing as part of the development practice. Additionally, participating in the program ensures that Altruista software meets a high standard of application security, reducing risk for customers.
"There's no higher priority for Altruista technology than the security of our customer data," said David McConney, Chief Operating Officer with Altruista Health. "This achievement reflects the same discipline and integrity we bring to every technology decision we make. That's the expectation our customers have of us and that we have of ourselves."
Altruista had its secure development practice validated and the GuidingCare® platform accepted into the Team Tier, and the Mobile Clinician application into the Standard Tier.
The Standard Tier demonstrates that the following three security gates have been implemented into their software development practice:
- Assesses first-party code with static analysis
- Documents that the application does not allow Very High flaws in first-party code
- Provides developers with remediation guidance when new flaws are introduced
The Team Tier implements the security gates shown above and adds the following:
- Assesses open source components for security flaws
- Identifies a security champion within the development team to ensure secure coding practices are used across the development lifecycle
- Provides training on secure coding best practices for the identified security champion
"Altruista Health is committed to delivering secure code to help organizations reduce the risk of a major security breach," said Asha May, Global Community Manager, CA Veracode. "Companies that invest in secure coding processes and follow our protocol for a mature application security program are able to deliver more confidence to customers who deploy their software."
The GuidingCare platform is a comprehensive solution that integrates all preventive, acute care, chronic disease management, behavioral health, long-term care and community services into a one seamless, patient-centered model of care. This feature-rich platform exhibits a high level of interoperability with customer systems yet is highly customizable. The Mobile Clinician application delivers the same care management functions as GuidingCare with Windows and iOS devices both online and when internet service is unavailable.
