Athlete Network Announces Partnership with The United States Marine Corps to Host Student-Athlete Career & Leadership Seminars
Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) September 05, 2017 -- Athlete Network announced today that they have finalized an agreement with The United States Marine Corps to sponsor Athlete Network’s Career & Leadership Seminar series. The first half of the seminar focuses on student-athlete career transition and how to articulate your skill set outside the athletic arena. The athletes will learn how to differentiate themselves as an athlete, while having an effective career game plan. It also covers the importance of networking and the specific traits that student-athletes possess due to their participation in sports. The second half of the seminar is led by a local Marine Corps Officer who shares leadership lessons he or she has learned in the field and focuses on what a team leader looks like, the impact of having a leadership mindset, and how that can be applied to athletic teams, coaches, and captains.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Marines to co-present our Power Seminar Series,” said DJ Washington, VP of College Relations at Athlete Network. “These seminars are a great opportunity to highlight student-athletes as competitive leaders and the value of their athlete mindset, which they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.”
“It’s an honor speaking with the athlete leaders of these universities,” said USMC Captain Kao Saeteurn. “It is clear these schools value teaching their athletes about life after college and how the traits they’ve acquired competing at high level can lead to their future success.”
