“I know from the feedback I'm getting from kids and their parents that they value the educational opportunities and fun that the Desert Dwellers Flash Cards provide, but I’m thrilled that my creative work is being recognized by professionals in my field. The hard work, artistic animals, and details I put into the cards payed off!” said Julie.

As a Silver ADDY® Award winner, the Desert Dwellers Flash Cards are eligible to compete in the second level of a three-tiered ADDY® Awards competition, the AAF District 12 ADDY® Awards which will be conducted in Denver, Colorado on March 22-23.

The award is the latest in a line of honors for Julie, including three past Addys, an American Package Design Award, and a Lumies Art Awards nomination. As well as selling her flash cards and other gifts through Julie Originals, she has her own graphic design firm, 24-7 Creative Solutions,.

Julie created 'Desert Dwellers: Southwest Animals from A-Z', a set of colorful flash cards with facts and stories to teach her son Syver the alphabet and about desert animals.

Itching to get creative again after time spent bringing up her baby, she set to work painting. From Anna's Hummingbird through to the Zebra-Tailed Lizard, the flash cards, priced at $20 each (with shipping), are a perfect learning tool for anyone interested in the colorful and diverse wildlife that inhabits the Southern Arizona desert.
