Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region (HomeCareAssistance-Toronto.com), the leading provider of non-medical, in-home senior care in the Greater Toronto Area, is addressing the details and success of its annual convention held in San Diego, California.
Home Care Assistance completed its annual convention at the end of September. The event celebrated the success of the company as a whole and featured different awards for caregivers and staff who provided above exceptional in-home senior care.
“It’s a time for all of the Home Care Assistance franchises to get together and reflect on what we’ve accomplished,” says Lester Fix, vice president of Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region. “It also gives us a chance to reward those caregivers who really went above and beyond and made a strong impression with any and all of the seniors to whom they provided in-home care.”
The caregiver of the year award went to Dean Phillips of Home Care Assistance –Indianapolis. Phillips has only been with Home Care Assistance for two years, but he has already distinguished himself with the seniors to whom he has provided in-home care.
“It’s a true honour to be acknowledged by your peers and recognized by seniors who praised Phillips for not just his work, but also his character,” Fix adds. “Being a caregiver is something that requires sensitivity along with skill and knowledge and Phillips exemplifies all of those abilities.”
Another highlight included a presentation by Dr. Frank Longo, chair of neuroscience at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Known for his expertise in dementia and Alzheimer's, Dr. Longo received the first ever Home Care Assistance award for brain science.
“Every branch of Home Care Assistance, including Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region, prides itself on the supreme quality of in-home care they have brought to senior communities across North America,” Fix concludes. “We and all our fellow locations have also made strides in dementia research and will continue to push the bounds of what an in-home care service is expected to do.”
