The Apple Fest 5K/10K Walk Run Is Set for September 28, 2014 In Fort Dodge, IA And Will Highlight The New Trail System In The Community
Fort Dodge, IA (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- The 6th Annual AppleFest 5K/10K Walk Run is sponsored by Fort Dodge Daybreak and Noon Rotary, Iowa Central Community College and UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center. The event will be held on Sunday, September 28th starting at 9:00 am at the Historic Downtown Fort Dodge Square and features the new trail system.
Proceeds from the 6th Annual AppleFest 5K 10K Run/Walk will go to community programs sponsored by the Fort Dodge Daybreak and Noon Rotarys', Iowa Central Community College Scholarships and UnityPoint Health-TRMC THRIVE.
"This community event brings together both of our Rotary Clubs and their members along with our local community college and regional hospital in an event that benefits everyone in promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting community programs," according to Steve Hoesel, Event Coordinator.
Early online cutoff for registrations will be September 21, 2014 at 4:00 pm. You can register online at Active. Early packet handouts will be Saturday, September 27th at Market on Central – Farmers Market from 9 am to 1 pm. Race date time for registration cut off is 8 am at the Gazebo on the Downtown City Square. Please keep watching our website for more details at http://www.fdapplefest.com.
Race Day Registrations will start at 7:00AM and will stop at 8:00AM. Race Day Registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt.
All races (of all age divisions) begin at 9:00 am at Fort Dodge Historic Downtown Square and will follow the new trail system.
The 5k Run Course will start at the Downtown City Square and travel on Central Avenue to 1st Street South. From there, follow the trail system south by the river and then loop back to 1st Street South up to Central Avenue and then to the finish line at the Downtown City Square.
10k Run Course will start at the Downtown City Square and travel on Central Avenue to 1st Street South. From there you will follow the trail system north and then loop back to 1st Street South up to Central Avenue and then to the finish line at the Downtown City Square.
Kids Run this year will be held during the event around the Downtown City Square.
