SYOSSET, N.Y (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- Parts retailer Repair Expo Inc. launched a new website this week that is designed for the growing number of people who are fixing their own appliances. The site allows searches by part and model number, and features live chat with appliance repair technicians.
The website is PartsXpo.com.
“The site combines on-the-job knowledge of appliance technicians with simplicity that only the Web can provide,” said Bryan Noble, Development Director of PartsXpo.com. “We spent months working with licensed techs to provide helpful tips and tricks on how to go about each repair.”
In a 2013 survey of almost 30,000 subscribers, Consumer Reports found that 31% had done their own appliance repairs. And The Wall Street Journal reported this month that while spending on appliance repair fell after the recession in 2006, it has continued to fall even as the economy has begun growing again.
“We're looking forward to helping customers save money by doing their own repairs,” said Kenneth Fredericks, one of the owners of PartsXpo.com. “I know from years of operating my own appliance repair business that client service is key to success.”
Consumer Reports recommends repairing an appliance if the repairs cost less than half the price of a new appliance. It notes that many repairs are explained in online videos.
The PartsXpo live chat and toll-free number are staffed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday. The site currently offers free shipping on orders over $95.
