New Puzzle Game “9 Boxes” by Funvelous is Simple to Play, Tough to Master, and Completely Addictive
(PRWEB) November 29, 2016 -- There are a few common problems that plague almost all puzzle games, such as they’re pointlessly easy, tediously complex, just plain poorly designed, or that they look and sound like something an average 8-year old would put together (apologies to the 8-year old geniuses out there). But every once in a while, a new puzzle game come along that doesn’t just promise to be simple, fun, challenging and addictive, but over-delivers on all levels. And the latest entry on this elite list is the delightfully mind-bending 9 Boxes.
Developed by Funvelous and available for both iOS and Android devices at no cost, 9 boxes features a sleek, minimalist design that looks great, and avoids the painful eyestrain associated with many other puzzle games.
As noted, the gameplay is simple to understand: users are presented with a box that is slowly falling towards a horizontal line. There are differently colored shapes in the box. The colors are blue, pink, yellow and grey.
However, some of the colored shapes overlap, which creates additional colors. For example, when blue and yellow overlap, that portion becomes green. Or when pink and yellow overlap, that portion becomes orange.
Beneath the horizontal line there are three additional boxes, and each one corresponds to a specific shape and color in the falling box. For example, if the falling box has a yellow block, then one of the boxes below the line will have a yellow block. If the falling box has a blue Tshape, then one of the boxes below the line will have a blue T-shape, and so on.
Based on this layout, users must tap each of the three boxes below the line, in order to move the shapes around in the falling box -- ultimately so they can free them from the overlap. For example, if the overlap of a yellow line and blue line created a small green block (since yellow + blue = green), then tapping either the yellow line or the blue line will move it elsewhere in the box. If users tap correctly, then the yellow line and blue line be 100% free of green, because they are no longer overlapping.
To be successful, users must liberate all shapes from overlapping before the falling box hits the horizontal line (this takes about 10 seconds). If this mission is accomplished, users are presented with a new box with different shapes.
In total, there are over 60 distinct puzzles, and users who want to see how they fare against competitors around the world can compete for the “Puzzle Crown” on the Leaderboard. The sound effects are also great, and users can pause the game anytime.
