APRIL 20: Police Departments of Boynton Beach and Delray Beach to Compete for Charity in Orangetheory’s “Hero Challenge”

Officers from the Boynton Beach and Delray Beach Police Departments will compete in an intense workout session at Orangetheory Fitness’ latest “Hero Challenge.” Proceeds raised during the event will go to a local charity of the winner’s choice, benefitting the South Florida community.

The Orangetheory Fitness studios of Boynton Beach and East Delray Beach will host their annual Police Department “Hero Challenge” on April 20, featuring the heroic officers of the Boynton Beach and Delray Beach Police Departments.

WHAT:
Members of two local police departments will compete head-to-head in one of Orangetheory Fitness’ signature workouts to see which team burns the most overall calories, using the studio’s electronic monitoring equipment.

Orangetheory will then donate one penny per calorie burned to the charity of the winning team’s choice.

Local vendors will also be present, and the event will feature a silent auction including sports memorabilia, spa packages and more, with all proceeds also being donated to the charity of the winner’s choice.

Representatives from both police departments and representatives from the studios will be available for interviews about the challenge and benefiting charity.

WHEN:
Saturday, April 20, 2019, 1-2:30 p.m. EST

After the 1-hour workout, the total calories will be tallied and the winner will be announced at 2 p.m.

The silent auction ends at 1:30 p.m.
