The nation's leading innovator of expanded polystyrene (EPS), Aqua-Pak Industries, has increased their capacity and commitment to sustainable, best-value construction solutions for commercial, residential, and industrial applications.
SURREY, British Columbia, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Aqua-Pak Industries Ltd., the nation's leading manufacturer of large expanded polystyrene (EPS) boxes for transportation of perishables, has agreed to acquire the shares of the Mansonville Plastics Group of Companies including Mansonville Plastics (B.C.) Limited, First Choice Manufacturing Ltd., and Korolite Engineered Panel Structures Ltd. through a subsidiary. This increases our commitment to sustainable, best-value construction solutions for commercial, residential, and institutional applications.
"We are very excited to further grow our talent and product solutions for customers in construction-related fields, especially for building envelope systems that are critically important to stop the large, avoidable waste of energy in buildings while keeping occupants healthy, comfortable, and productive," said Hubert Kustermann, president of Aqua-Pak Industries Ltd.
Founded in 1959 in Mansonville, Quebec, the operations of Mansonville Plastics in British Columbia were acquired by the late Mario Cormier in 1981. It has since grown into multiple companies with a broad product portfolio serving various markets, specializing in solutions based on block-moulded EPS such as Korolite® building insulation, Structural Insulated Panels (SIP), and Geofoam lightweight fill material used under highways, bridge abutments, landscaping, and more.
Since 1986 Aqua-Pak has served the aquaculture and other industries with innovative, standard-setting Styro Box® packaging solutions to effectively transport fresh seafood and other perishables. As experts in shape-moulded EPS products, Aqua-Pak expanded into industrial packaging and launched Quad-Lock® in 1994, an Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) system to construct resilient & sustainable foundations and building shells.
The transactions are planned to close on October 1, 2018 and the Mansonville Plastics Group of Companies will continue to operate as a stand-alone unit.
Aqua-Pak Industries Ltd. (http://www.aquapak.com) was incorporated in 1986 to meet the need for insulating packaging for the burgeoning aquaculture industry. With shippers of live & fresh seafood and other perishables quickly adopting Aqua-Pak's optimized Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Styro Box®, it grew into the preferred EPS shape molder in the Pacific Northwest.
In 1994 Aqua-Pak expanded into the construction market, manufacturing the Quad-Lock® Insulating Concrete Forms and the Airfoam EPS insulation, Geofoam, and floatation products in 2016. Aqua-Pak is actively engaged in leading industry organizations such as CHBA, GVHBA, NAHB, AIA, ICFMA, NRMCA, and BCRMCA to promote sustainable and economical construction solutions that create jobs and stop avoidable waste of energy with lower environmental impacts than XPS. Aqua-Pak is ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 certified and strives to be the industry thought leader and preferred supplier for EPS solutions.
