SPARROW Joins ARC Credit Card Working Group to Optimize Travel Industry Payment Processes
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- On April 7-8, 2015 SPARROW was invited by Airlines Reporting Corporation® (ARC) to join their working group to discuss the challenges facing the travel industry when it comes to credit card payment processing. SPARROW joined representatives from leading reservation systems, airlines, and payment processing services to discuss the way forward in standardizing data communication to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
“SPARROW applauds the foresight and initiative taken by ARC and all of the representatives in attendance to address the challenges unique to the travel industry,” said Matanda Doss, SPARROW CEO. “We are excited to bring SPARROW’s expertise and technology to the table and be a part of a proactive solution.”
There are many issues dealing with communication across different systems as ticketed passenger data is utilized to reserve flights and settle credit card transactions. Because multiple systems are necessary at different steps required by travel industry partners, the challenges inhibit optimal payment processing. Information is not standardized and differences in terminology create downgraded transactions. Downgraded transactions lead to inefficiencies, increased credit card fees, and reduced cash flow. These are among the very issues that SPARROW expertise and technology is poised to address.
SPARROW technology is designed with cash flow optimization and systems integration in mind. The SPARROW system enables information synchronization across multiple systems to generate advanced reports, as well as the capability to minimize downgraded transactions. These features along with the ability to significantly reduce transaction costs were brought to the conversation on how to optimize transactions specifically for the airline industry.
Among the list of attendees, Sparrow was honored to be the sole payment software system in attendance. Sparrow has enjoyed its relationship with ARC since 2013 when it integrated the SPARROW HUB (“Helping Unify Business”) with the ARC settlement system. This allowed clients to streamline sales and reporting capabilities while simplifying integration with the ARC settlement platform. Adjunct to this, airlines are benefiting from greater payment security and Level 1, 3.0 PCI compliant data processing. Inclusion in this work group strengthens SPARROW’s offering to airlines who seek payment optimization.
