A Shot of Truth Launches Timeline of Thimerosal, a Dangerous Vaccine Preservative That’s Still in Use

Thimerosal, once thought to be completely phased out of childhood vaccines, is still used in flu shots and other vaccines approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The new timeline includes information obtained through the Freedom of Information of Act (FOIA), as well as scientific evidence that has never before been reported to the public.
A Shot of Truth’s thimerosal timeline tells a story that is almost a century long. From the introduction of the mercury-based preservative to its addition to vaccines to the present day, the timeline describes the countless child victims who regressed after vaccination, the cover-up of study results and the efforts of courageous scientists to disclose the truth to the public. “We wanted to create a timeline to not only show the evidence of cover-up of harm, but also to demonstrate that thimerosal should never have been in vaccines, from day one,” says A Shot of Truth Project Manager, Angela Medlin. “The timeline begins in 1929 and tells the actual history of thimerosal along with its horrific impact on susceptible members of the population.”
According to Brian Hooker, PhD, Biochemist and father to a boy who developed normally and then regressed into autism after vaccines, “Research has shown that individuals on the autism spectrum have an impaired ability to excrete metals including mercury, making them more susceptible to the effects of the neurotoxin.”
Thimerosal, which is 50% ethyl mercury by weight, was first introduced by Eli Lilly and Company in the 1920s as a mercury compound. Registered under the name “Merthiolate,” it was believed to have antiseptic and antibacterial components, though it was never adequately studied for safety. Despite tests proving that thimerosal is dangerous and toxic to animals and humans, the vaccine preservative, over 80 years later, is used in vaccines and routinely administered to children and pregnant women via flu shots.
“The U.S. ranks last out of 34 developed countries in infant mortality, but has the most aggressive vaccination schedule in the world,” says Barry Segal, founder of Focus Autism. Dr. Hooker cautioned, “Children under one year of age are especially vulnerable to mercury damage. Examining the past, we can clearly see how increased exposure to the dangerous preservative, thimerosal, through vaccines has contributed to the autism epidemic. This timeline leaves no room for doubt; mercury needs to be removed from all vaccines immediately.”
