New York-Based IT Company UMVLT Changes Name to Aspiris
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 01, 2016 -- This September, New York-based IT company UMVLT—a business-driven tech support company touting upwards of 40 major clients across the U.S.—changed their name to Aspiris. The name change comes in an effort to more thoroughly establish the growing company’s brand identity.
According to Co-Founder Joshua Hamel, part of maintaining an effective, communicable brand identity in the IT marketplace involves having a name that is not only memorable, but also reflective of the company’s unique mission.
“Our clients are moving into technologically-advanced work environments so they can accomplish their goals faster and more efficiently,” said Hamel. “When they’re thinking of Aspiris, they’re thinking of technology, and they’re aspiring to what technology can do for them from a business standpoint.”

The company’s original name, UMVLT (pronounced OOM-velt,) was a play on the German word “umwelt,” referring to an organism’s perception of its environment. Hamel says he and Co-Founder Michael Steffe were inspired to name their new company UMVLT after reading an insightful article by David M. Eagleman.
After two years, however, the co-founders decided “Aspiris” would ultimately prove more genuine, memorable, and enduring.
