BMA Management Affordable Assisted Living Community Earns Deficiency-Free Survey From State Department
Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) September 29, 2013 -- Heritage Woods of Batavia, a BMA affordable assisted living community, has been awarded a deficiency-free survey by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
The community, which is located at 1079 E. Wilson St. in Batavia, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services is responsible for regulating Heritage Woods and other assisted living communities that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living Program.
During the annual survey process, representatives from the state department visited Heritage Woods to conduct a detailed review of all aspects of the community's operations, including the physical plant, nursing and ancillary services, maintenance, food service, and disaster preparedness. The survey process also included interviews with residents.
Heritage Woods received the recognition after earning the deficiency-free score on its 2013 Healthcare and Family Services survey. The perfect survey results reflect efforts the community makes to meet industry standards and regulations while continuing to put residents first. This is the ninth time in the past decade that the community has received a deficiency-free survey from the state.
"Our emphasis at Heritage Woods is on helping residents maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible by providing love, compassion and dignity, in addition to the care and assistance they need," said Jennifer Hanke, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Batavia.
“As an affordable assisted living community," she said, "we are proud of our ability to continue serving older adults of all incomes with the best possible assistance to ensure they live the best life possible in the comfort of their own apartment.”
Hanke described Heritage Woods as a great alternative to nursing home care or to struggling alone at home for older adults who need some assistance to maintain their independence, but do not require skilled nursing home care.
The Heritage Woods of Batavia affordable assisted living community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their taste. Each of the apartments includes a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs," says Hanke.
The community is managed by BMA Management, of Bradley, Illinois. BMA is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
"Our emphasis is on helping each Heritage Woods of Batavia resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management.
The communities managed by BMA include the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Bolingbrook, Chicago, Gurnee, Manteno, McHenry, Plainfield and Yorkville.
BMA also operates the Heritage Woods assisted living community in Huntley; the Churchview affordable assisted living community in Chicago; and the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living and memory care community in South Elgin.
