Bridle Brook of Mahomet Assisted Living Team Joins Alzheimer’s Walk
Bradley, IL (PRWEB) September 13, 2013 -- Bridle Brook of Mahomet, a BMA assisted living and memory care community, will join thousands of teams from across the nation in “walking to end Alzheimer’s.” The local walk will get underway at 10 a.m. on Sept. 21 at Centennial Park, 2202 West Kirby Avenue, Champaign.
The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funding for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
“Join us as we support a cause that is near and dear to our hearts and the hearts of our residents and their families,” said Angela Ford, Director of Marketing for Bridle Brook. “We will be walking for Bridle Brook and the millions of people across the country whose lives have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.”
If you’d like to walk with the Bridle Brook team or make a donation, please visit this Alzheimer’s association webpage.
Bridle Brook designed T-shirts to help raise money for the walk; they are being sold at the community for $25. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
The community's goal is to raise $1,000.

Bridle Brook of Mahomet, which is located at 1505 Patton Drive in Mahomet, Illinois, features assisted living and specialized memory care apartments. Adult day care and respite programs also are available.
"We provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Ford.
In assisted living, residential apartment-home living is combined with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans feature a kitchenette; spacious bathroom with raised toilet, shower and grab bars; individually-controlled heating and air conditioning; and emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and participate in activities and special programs," says Ford.
The memory care apartments are designed for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
