Heritage Woods is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois. The company, which is based in Bradley, Illinois, manages 38 assisted living, senior living and memory care communities.
"Our focus," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management, "is to provide Heritage Woods of Huntley residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve and the help and assistance that they need. Our emphasis is on helping residents to achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."
Schaefer adds that "we provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home. Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."
Private studio and one-bedroom apartments are available, with each of the apartments featuring a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
"Residents furnish and decorate their apartments to their taste," says Schaefer.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in social activities and special events," says Schaefer.
Communities managed by BMA Management include the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Batavia, Belvidere, Bolingbrook, Chicago, DeKalb, Gurnee, McHenry, Plainfield and Yorkville, Illinois.
BMA also manages Deer Path of Huntley, an assisted living community for physically disabled adults between the ages of 22 and 64. Deer Path is the only community for physically disabled adults in the northwest Chicago suburbs. The community opened in August.
