Prairie Winds of Urbana Affordable Assisted Living Organizes Supply Drive for Urbana School
Bradley, IL (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- Prairie Winds of Urbana – a BMA affordable assisted living community – is hosting a school supply drive for Thomas Paine Elementary School students. The drive will take place from Aug. 12 to Aug. 16.
The community, which is located at 1905 S. Prairie Winds Dr. in Urbana, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
Prairie Winds has a special relationship with Thomas Paine students. Each year, second and fourth grade students walk to Prairie Winds to enjoy a fun activity and snack with residents. Last year, the community hosted a spelling for students and residents. The community has made May baskets, decorated Thanksgiving cookies, attended special programs at the building and collected other school supplies.
“Our residents are extremely fond of the students at Thomas Paine, and we want to do everything we can to help them start the school year on the right track. We encourage the community to join us in our efforts to collect supplies for their school,” said Prairie Winds Director of Marketing Margaret Seggebruch.
