Atlanta Autism School Cumberland Academy of Georgia Celebrates Students’ Graduation; Welcomes Graduation Speaker Donna Lowry of 11Alive News
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) April 28, 2016 -- May is a time for celebration as another group of students with Autism, Asperger's and other learning disabilities graduates from Atlanta special needs school, Cumberland Academy of Georgia. The school specializes in providing a supportive and challenging environment to help students overcome unique educational, emotional and social obstacles, allowing students to achieve their full potential. The annual graduation ceremony is a hallmark moment for these students, teachers and families.At the ceremony on May 19, each of the graduates will proudly take the stage and speak in front of the audience about their experience at Cumberland, and what this milestone means for them.

This year, Cumberland Academy of Georgia is proud to welcome Donna Lowry from WXIA 11Alive News, the Atlanta NBC affiliate station. The only full time education reporter in the state, Lowry just announced her retirement on Friday. She created the award-winning Class Act and Class Notes segments, which air regularly on the program, acknowledging exemplary educators and great student achievements in the community. Since her start on 11Alive in 1986, Lowry has won multiple Emmy Awards and other honors for coverage of topics ranging from education and child care issues to child abuse and domestic violence. Cumberland Academy of Georgia is grateful Lowry will be giving the 2016 graduation speech, which will inspire and motivate the graduates, and all attending the ceremony.
