GAINESVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Audi Gainesville brought a bit of Germany to Gainesville's Main Street with their second annual Oktoberfest.
The event was billed as 'Tailgating, German Style!' as hundreds showed up to enjoy a taste of traditional German culture and watch the University of Florida defeat Mississippi, too. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida.
"We'd set a goal of $10,000 for what we hoped to raise for this great cause, and getting to over $15,000 was terrific," said Thomas Brinkmann, General Manager of Audi Gainesville. "With a bigger and better event than last year, too," he continued, "an all-day affair, with pretzels, brats, real Oktoberfest beer provided by Swamp Head Brewery and a real Bavarian band flown in from Munich, Germany-- and football action on our big screen TVs. And everyone learned the German word for tailgating: 'Hecklappensitzen!'"
Audi Gainesville shattered the fundraising goal with over $15,000 raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities, of North Central Florida and more than doubled attendance from the year prior. Patrons not only enjoyed the German-style events and football, but also human foosball, bounce houses, cornhole games and more.
"It was a lot of fun, the Gators won, and it was all for a good cause," said Brinkmann. "And next year? Even bigger!"
