The Book Many Romance Readers Have Been Waiting for: Three Little Words
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Susan Mallery’s Three Little Words, a Fool’s Gold romance novel, is available now wherever books and ebooks are sold. Three Little Words is the long-awaited story of war hero Ford Hendrix, a Navy SEAL who returns to his California hometown to open a bodyguard school, and who reunites with the woman whose letters sustained him during his years of service. RT Book Reviews Magazine chose Three Little Words as a Top Pick for the month of August and calls it, "a dynamite read filled with humor, compassion and sexy sizzle."
Ford Hendrix is the youngest brother of the Hendrix family. His eldest brother Ethan fell in love in Almost Perfect, a 2010 Fool’s Gold romance. Triplet sisters Dakota, Montana, and Nevada Hendrix found love in the 2011 trilogy, Only Mine, Only Yours, and Only His – as did their widowed mother Denise.
“From the very start of the Fool’s Gold series, readers have asked me to write a book for Ford,” Mallery says. “So I’m thrilled to say that he’s finally going to fall in love.”
When Ford was a young man, his fiancée slept with his best friend, prompting him to leave town and join the military. Isabel, the teenaged sister of his erstwhile fiancée, had a desperate crush on Ford. She wrote to him for years, chronicling the stories of her youth. He never wrote back, so she almost came to feel as if she were writing a diary. What she couldn’t possibly know was how very much those letters meant to Ford as he went through the difficult times of war.
“Ford is charming,” Mallery says. “He comes across as light-hearted on the surface, but like all of our military personnel who have served during war, he has seen some terrible things. Isabel’s innocent letters grounded him and reminded him of what he was fighting for. He served to protect our way of life back home.”
But Isabel doesn’t know that. All she knows is that she wrote dozens of embarrassing letters, confessed her deepest secrets, to the man. And now he’s back, and he knows way more about him than any man should, especially a man as handsome as Ford.
Mallery took the unusual step of writing two romances in Three Little Words, as math teacher Kent Hendrix also meets the woman of his dreams, a former assassin turned bodyguard trainer. The two love stories are woven seamlessly together against the quirky backdrop of Fool’s Gold, California, a town in the Sierra Nevada foothills that became famous for a statistical shortage of men.
The past eight Fool’s Gold romance paperback releases, including this year’s Just One Kiss and Two of a Kind, have debuted in the Top 10 on the New York Times bestsellers list and have hit as high as #2. Later this year, Mallery will release the Fool’s Gold Cookbook, followed by Christmas on 4th Street in hardcover.
