Donna Schwenk, Author of “Food for Thought” Highlighted in Author Solutions Real Authors, Real Impact Campaign
Bloomington, Ind. (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- Author Solutions, LLC, a Penguin Random House company and the world leader in supported self-publishing services, is featuring former Balboa Press author Donna Schwenk as part of its Real Authors, Real Impact campaign.
Schwenk self-published her book, “Cultured Food Life: Learn to Make Probiotic Foods in Your Home,” with Balboa in 2011. Hay House acquired the title in 2012 and released a retitled edition of the book in Oct. 2013.
Schwenk started cooking cultured foods in 2002, and the effects on her and her family’s health and quality of life were dramatic. She currently serves as leader of the Kansas City chapter of the Weston Price Foundation—an organization committed to returning nutrient-dense foods to the human diet—while she teaches classes on culture foods and gives demonstrations, all to spread the word about using food to improve health and impact others.
“I just did what was set before me, because I really had a crisis in my life before starting my site and writing my book. I was looking for a way to focus on something that would make me feel better, and helping other people made me feel better,” Schwenk said. “When it helped other people, it helped me.”
Schwenk chose to self-publish her book with Balboa Press because she loved Hay House, and several of the authors had impacted her life. A favor she looked to return with her book.
“I am so thankful and so appreciative that I can share with others what has meant so much to me,” Schwenk added.
