Madison Kroeker, Author of “Toward a Better Way,” Highlighted in Author Solutions Real Authors, Real Impact Campaign
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Author Solutions, LLC, a Penguin Random House company and the world’s leading provider of supported self-publishing services, is featuring WestBow Press author Madison Kroeker as part of its ongoing Real Authors, Real Impact campaign.
Kroeker began writing “Toward a Better Way” as part of her personal recovery process. She battled bulimia nervosa, an eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS) and self-harm for nearly a year before making the decision to embark on the long, difficult journey toward a better life. As she wrote, she realized her book could send a message of healing to others.
“In many ways, writing this book helped save my life,” Kroeker explains. “I find my book like a bridge, closing the gap between the taboo subject of eating disorders and the other side. This is something we need to be open about—self-esteem and body image and dieting and our relationship with food—because not only is the struggle far too common in today’s society, it can be life-altering, and that is something that definitely needs to be addressed and changed for the better.”
Much of this book, which Kroeker self-published with WestBow Press in spring 2014, is based on personal events in Madison’s own recovery journey. Ultimately she wanted to give others hope that a better life really was possible.
