Kenna P. Marriott, Author of “Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda,” Featured in Author Solutions Real Authors, Real Impact Campaign
Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- Author Solutions, LLC, a Penguin Random House company and the world leader in supported self-publishing services, is featuring Kenna P. Marriott, author of the iUniverse title “Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda … Lessons, Learnings, and Insights from a Mother about Her Daughter’s Journey through Cancer," in its Real Authors, Real Impact campaign.
Marriott’s daughter, Jeannine, was just 40 years old when she received a breast cancer diagnosis. Two years into her battle, Jeannine received devastating news: the aggressive cancer had metastasized in her backbone and was deemed incurable. Jeannine passed away on May 24, 2008, at the age of 47.
In “Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda”, Marriott follows Jeannine from just prior to her diagnosis through the entirety of her seven-year battle. Presented from the perspectives of mother and daughter, the book follows the progression of the illness, the milestones and disappointments, the lessons both learned and Marriott’s response, as a loving mother, to her daughter’s struggle and death.
“I believe the book is enlightening, inspiring and presents both a tribute to Jeannine and self-help guide to assist patients and families who are facing the challenges of a life-threatening illness,” said Marriott. “It communicates that catastrophic illness isn’t just one person’s illness; it impacts everyone who cares about them.”
Marriott added that in addition to patients and families, she believes doctors and nurses would benefit from reading the book, as it touches on the patient perspective of care and the importance of these people in patients’ lives.
“I feel the entire cancer industry, beginning with the American Cancer Society, would find this book extremely insightful and of interest,” Marriott added.
“Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda” recently won a 2014 Beverly Hills Book Award. Marriott, who blogs at livewithcancer.info, also speaks to cancer-related organizations.
