Published by Christian Faith Publishing, David P. Pucci's new book is the story of a Polish family that loses it all in the Great War.
Jenny, her mother, and younger brother trudged wearily through the steppes of Poland. They pushed forward to escape the hell of a world at war and the Russian Revolution. It was a struggle where the victories were small and tragedy great. It was a struggle that showed what a mother would sacrifice simply to obtain enough food for her children and the harsh reality of that sacrifice. It is the true story of author David P. Pucci's grandmother and her journey to America in the face of the Great War and the birth of the Bolshevik Revolution.
Jenny was born into a wealthy family in Russia-controlled Poland. Her maternal grandfather was a violinist and played for the czar. Her paternal grandfather was a wealthy builder in Poland. As a child, she lived without want or hunger. Her father was a hero of the 1904 Russo-Japanese War and he chose to go to America as the ambassador for Imperial Russia. In America at the onset of WWI, Jenny's father tried to do everything he could to get his family out of a war-ravished continent, but his family would have to trudge through Poland to get to the Baltic Sea in order to gain their berth on a ship headed to America.
