Author Demonstrates in New Book How to Carry Out Faith in God through Attitudes and Actions
CALGARY, Alberta (PRWEB) April 01, 2019 -- Christians and nonbelievers alike might oftentimes wonder, in a highly divided and vitriolic world today, what a “real Christian” looks like. Do they go to church? Do they raise their hands in worship? Or is it enough for them to simply profess the existence of God, but do nothing to exemplify God working through them? “The Only Thing That Counts: a study in spirituality” by Vic Delamont, helps point out the growing lack of biblical spirituality in today’s churchgoers and the thought shift that can change it.
Using evidence from the Scriptures, Delamont asserts the importance of expressing one’s faith in God through a change of attitude that results in acts of love. In his eyes, it is not enough to simply believe in God. How and why Christians do the things they do: express generosity, go to church and serve God in the community—is what makes a great Christian. Someone who identifies as Christian cannot merely say they believe in and love God but fail to demonstrate their faith and love for God through those actions.
Delamont helps readers turn to the Bible’s teachings to learn what God expects of us and how we can further his will and learn to disciple others. “There are lots of hints in the Bible we might pay attention to when trying to answer questions like ‘what is faith? Why does it matter? How do I then express it in love?”’ said Delamont.
“We are made as spiritual beings, so it makes sense to consult the Bible for directions on how to live our lives according to God’s purpose,” Delamont said. “While I do recognize that this may not be a culturally-appropriate stance to take right now, I also recognize that it is the only true and sustainable position to take that offers legitimate hope to readers.”
“The Only Thing That Counts” is sure to help readers learn how to further God’s kingdom and how to guide us toward a meaningful and deep relationship with Christ.
