MEADVILLE, Pa., Oct. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Can We Trust God's Justice? Impartiality and the Randomness of Human Life": a thought-provoking examination of one of the most fundamental challenges of faith. "Can We Trust God's Justice? Impartiality and the Randomness of Human Life" is the creation of published author Luis R. Scott, Sr., a retired US Army chaplain and founder of the Ambassadors of Christ Ministry in Columbus, Georgia. Pastor Scott has been married to his high school sweetheart for thirty-eight years. They have four grown children and seven grandchildren.
Luis shares, "The book 'Can We Trust God's Justice?' wrestles with the proposition that God is good and righteous because he is impartial even when tragedy strikes one of his faithful servants. Our family suffered such tragedy when my daughter-in-law's brother was tragically killed in a single vehicle accident in 2010. Jacob Davis was a faithful and dedicated young man to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But one day, and without warning, Jacob was gone from us and our families entered a crisis to answer the unanswerable question of why God allowed a random deer to cross Jacob's path, ending his life.
When tragedy strikes a stranger's life, we can respond to the events with spiritual-sounding platitudes, without experiencing the resulting pain. But when death comes knocking on our doors, the spiritual-sounding answers are no longer satisfactory. How we deal with tragedy in our lives is as important, or more important, than how we accept our successes. The question Can We Trust God's Justice? when tragedy strikes is one of the most significant struggles of the human experience. The answer is complicated, and for this reason I wrote 'Can We Trust God's Justice?' I wanted to answer this very important question from a theological perspective while reflecting on our own tragedy.
The book 'Can We Trust God's Justice?' focuses its attention on God's attribute of impartiality to affirm the eternal principles that God is good and just in his actions with his world. God's goodness and justice are revealed through his impartiality. Humanity experiences the impartial God through our moral freedom and the randomness of human events. Out interaction with the impartial God of the universe exposes our frailties every day, but God remains good and just in his dealing with us because he is impartial."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Luis R. Scott, Sr.'s new book is a theological exploration of humanity's struggle to reconcile divine impartiality with the concept of a loving God when tragedy strikes people of faith.
