Terence M. Dorn, Ph.D., Colonel (Retired), U.S. Army, has completed his new book “Quotes: The Famous and Not So Famous”: a collection of wisdom centuries in the making. ‘
Dr. Dorn was born in Ankara, Turkey. As the son of an Air Force chief master sergeant, he traveled worldwide and eventually attended college in Nebraska. He joined the Army in 1985, excelling in the Army’s Air Defense branch, and was deployed multiple times to various combat zones. Dr. Dorn’s civilian honors include induction into the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Alpha Phi Sigma, Iota Pi; the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi; and the International Business Honor Society, Delta Mu Delta. Dr. Dorn’s military awards and honors include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (1OLC), Bronze Star (1OLC), Purple Heart, Office of the Secretary of Defense Badge, Joint Staff Badge, and Army Staff Identification Badge. Dr. Dorn is married to the former Nicole D. Holda, a retired Army Major who served in the Military Intelligence Corps for over twenty years. They have two sons: Alan and Calvin.
Published by Page Publishing, Dr. Dorn’s absorbing collection of more than 400 pages of quotes includes pearls of wisdom from throughout the ages. Quotes were collected from ancient sources like Aesop and Alexander the Great and modern voices like Edward Abbey and Muhammed Ali.
The project began when he served the Army chief of staff as a speechwriter. Looking for relevant quotes each day was an essential task associated with his duties; disseminating the quotes to friends, colleagues, and family was not. Dorn’s father had been a stalwart supporter of Dorn all his life and encouraged Dorn to continue to distribute the quotes long after he left his speechwriter position.
Readers who wish to experience this illuminating and enjoyable work can purchase “Quotes: The Famous and Not So Famous” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
